It started off as just an ordinary Friday morning on February 15, 2013 in the town of Chelyabinsk, Russia. That is until eyewitnesses began noticing a burning object streaming across the sky, leaving behind a trail of thick smoke, traveling over 42,500 mph, and at one point, superseding the brightness of the sun itself.
The object exploded, mid air, releasing, approximately 33 times the amount of energy of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima, ultimately creating mass panic within the town. Windows shattered - car alarms sounded for miles - and stones rained from the sky.
What you are viewing is a true artifact from that very morning - a part slice of the meteorite itself! This stone was recovered immediately after the event occurred. Notable features is the beautiful brecciation against the jet-black, fresh fusion crust. This meteorite is getting harder to find available in conditions such as this, so don’t hesitate to make this a part of your collection!

About Stony Meteorites: Stony meteorites are the most common meteorites, making up the majority of the meteorites discovered here on Earth. They are divided into two groups: chondrites, which are some of the oldest primitive material in our entire solar system, and achondrites, which include meteorites that derived from our moon and Mars.

I recently made a purchase from The Interstellar Collection and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. From the very beginning, the team was exceptionally responsive, responsible, and professional. Every question I had was answered promptly and clearly, and I truly felt valued as a customer.
Even when a minor inventory issue came up with my original selection, they handled it with care and offered a thoughtful replacement—along with a surprise gift: a vial of Genuine Carbonaceous Asteroid Dust, which contains the building blocks of life! This small but meaningful gesture truly made my day and showed their passion for what they do.
The quality of the meteorite I received was incredible, and the packaging and documentation were top-notch. I highly recommend The Interstellar Collection to anyone interested in authentic and rare space specimens. It’s not just a purchase—it’s a cosmic experience!
Thank you, Kayla and the team, for making my first meteorite acquisition so memorable. I’ll definitely be back for more!
