The Admire pallasite was first documented in 1881, when a farmer uncovered fragments while plowing near Admire, Lyon County, Kansas. Pallasites such as this one are among the rarest meteorite groups, representing only a small fraction of all known falls. They are believed to have formed at the boundary between the metal-rich core and silicate mantle of differentiated parent bodies, offering valuable insights into planetary formation processes.

The Admire pallasite is composed of approximately equal proportions of nickel-iron and olivine (forsterite) crystals. When sectioned, these olivine inclusions reveal a striking translucency under transmitted light, making Admire specimens especially sought after for both scientific study and aesthetic display.
