Northwest Africa 14681 is a rare, fascinating lunar meteorite, classified as a troctolitic anorthosite. This meteorite was discovered in 2021 and has been confirmed to have originated from the Moon's highlands, providing unique insights into the lunar crust's composition and geological history.

This lunar meteorites is predominantly composed of plagioclase (approximately 85%), with olivine making up 10% and minor amounts of pigeonite (~1%). It also contains trace minerals such as troilite and chromite, while metallic phases are notably absent. The high calcium levels in the plagioclase affirm its anorthositic origin, characteristic of the lunar highlands. It showcases a brecciated texture with light and dark gray clasts creating a stunning visual contrast, making NWA 14681 a captivating specimen for collectors and researchers alike.
