Overview

Our digital gift cards allow recipients to purchase authentic meteorites, jewelry and other items from our store. Gift cards are delivered electronically and contain a unique code that can be applied during checkout.

Gift cards are treated as one-time use, and must be used on items of $100 or more.  Value expires in one (1) year of the purchase date.


Minimum Purchase Requirement

Black Friday E-Gift cards are valued at $120 (for the discounted purchase of $100).  The E-Gift Card code may be used toward any purchase equal to or exceeding the card’s value, and must be used in full.


How to Redeem

  • During checkout, enter the gift card code exactly as shown in your email.

  • The gift card value will be applied once the order meets the minimum purchase requirement of $100.  

  • Gift cards are single-use and must be redeemed in one transaction.

  • Remaining balances do not carry over.

  • E-Gift Card expires in one (1) year of purchase date.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Non-Refundable

Gift cards are non-refundable, even if lost, stolen, or unused.
No cash refunds or exchanges will be provided.

2. Not Redeemable for Cash

Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law.

3. Expiration

Our gift cards expire within one (1) year of the purchase date.

4. Transferable

Gift cards may be gifted or transferred, but the code may only be redeemed once.

5. Single-Use

Gift cards are single-use credits. Any remaining value is considered redeemed.  

6. Fraud & Misuse

We reserve the right to:

  • Cancel e-gift cards obtained through fraud

  • Refuse redemption on suspicious codes

  • Require proof of purchase for verification

7. Lost or Stolen Codes

If a e-gift card cannot be found, we can reissue it only if you can provide verifiable proof of purchase.

8. Discounts & Promotions

E-Gift cards cannot be:

  • Purchased using discount codes

  • Combined with certain promotions

  • Used to purchase other gift cards

9. Limitations

A gift card does not guarantee product availability.
If a meteorite specimen sells out before redemption, the card may be used toward any other item.

Return Policy:  
We accept returns within 14 days of purchase, however, in order to be eligible for a refund to your original method of payment, details below must be adhered to:

Prior to your return, you must email us at ICMeteorites@gmail.com to receive a Return Authorization number.  No returns will be accepted without contacting us first.  You will be responsible for the cost of mailing the item back to us plus any associated fees (if any), and will receive a refund within 7 days minus the original shipping costs and associated fees after our team quickly inspects and confirms the returned item's condition is satisfactory. 

Returning an Item:
Item(s) must be returned in the condition in which they were received.  We suggest you keep all the original packaging that it came in. Due to the nature and fragility of meteorites, they must arrive safely to us in order to qualify for the return. 

Please contact us for guidance on proper packaging prior to mailing it back.  We will be more than happy to go over best practices, which vary from stone to stone.  It is imperative that this step is done correctly to ensure safe return delivery.

International Delivery Disclaimer:
For International mail going outside of the United States, we've seen packages arrive anywhere from 7-30 days.  Unfortunately, timing of delivery is out of our control once we mail out the package, but we use the most trusted and reliable postal service in the United States and that time frame is what we typically see. We DO NOT guarantee international delivery dates.  International delays are common and not due to negligence.

We always mail packages through USPS Priority Mail (3 day delivery for Domestic) unless we are forced to use another provider. 

If I am located outside of the United States, will I be charged import/customs/tariff fees?
Every country is different regarding fees and regulations.  Please connect with your local postal service to get the answer to your questions. All fees associated with your shipment will be your responsibility. For reference, we typically use HS Code (Harmonized System) 9705.10, since you will likely be ordering genuine meteorites from us. 

**The value you pay for the meteorite(s) from us will be exactly what will be documented and presented in the customs form -  not a penny less. While this may be inconvenient to our customers, this is the law. Please do not request us to document it any differently - we assure you we won't**

Refused Packages:
If an order is refused upon pickup or delivery for any reason, the refund will be for the product(s) only (minus shipping, handling and associated fees - see below). This means, any fees associated with the reversal of the shipment is solely the customer's responsibility.  If any fees (customs fees, tariffs, postage, etc...)are required to be paid by The Interstellar Collection, LLC upon the package's return to The Interstellar Collection, LLC and paid by The Interstellar Collection, LLC, those fees will be deducted from the total refund of the sale - no exceptions.  

Non-Refundable Fees:
Please Note - while refunds will be processed if they fall within our guidelines, there are transactional/processing fees that are applied to all orders that are already built into the final purchase price of your order. Because of this, any fee that applies to your order is non-refundable since a transaction has occurred, regardless of a return. These are not fees that we charge and keep - they belong to the bank/Shopify and we cannot retrieve them for you!

In addition, as stated above in the "Refused Packages" section, any additional fees for a package that is returned - including and not limited to potential customs fees, tariffs, postage, etc... are solely the responsibility of the customer.  We (The Interstellar Collection, LLC) do not charge for returns, so this would be costs that exist outside of The Interstellar Collection, LLC.  Should there be any costs associated with a return, the costs will be deducted from your refund.

Expedited Shipping:
We offer expedited shipping, which you will have to add to your cart just as you would purchase a physical product from our store. We call it our "Meteor-Speed Shipping".  The typical time frames according to USPS Priority Mail Express is 1-3 days for domestic (within the United States) delivery.  If you are located internationally and want to receive your package sooner, you can proceed with our Meteor-Speed Shipping, however there is no guarantee that it will arrive on a specific date. Your package is literally out of our hands once the package leaves the United States and we cannot promise delivery dates, nor can we offer refunds on shipping costs if it does not arrive within your desired time frame.

Navidium Insurance:
You may have noticed (or will notice) Navidium, an optional checkbox upon checkout of your item(s). Discover peace of mind while you shop with Navidium Insurance! When you choose Navidium upon checkout, you’re not just getting coverage; you’re opting for a seamless shopping experience. Unlike traditional insurance agencies, Navidium collects a simple 3% to your order which fully covers you in the event a refund is deemed necessary minus applicable transactional and processing fees as outlined above.  When choosing Navidium, we (The Interstellar Collection, LLC) will also intervene if there are any questions regarding the status of a shipment.  This takes the burden off of you to have to connect with the postal service.  

We typically mail using USPS Priority Shipping, which is trackable and very reliable.  With that being said: in the unlikely event that a package is deemed by the Post Office as being lost or damaged during transit and is uninsured (opted out of Navidium), the responsibility is now between the carrier and the customer. We (The Interstellar Collection, LLC) will not intervene. Once a package is with the post office and is no longer in our physical possession, it is now out of our control. The Interstellar Collection, LLC will not be held responsible for uninsured packages, and you will need to open a case yourself with the Post Office. Opting in for Navidium takes that responsibility off of your plate and onto ours. In other words, you pay a small 3% fee, and we do that work on your behalf!

Without additional insurance through Navidium, you will unfortunately not qualify for a refund in the unlikely event that something goes wrong while in transit, and a case with the post office will need to opened and handled entirely on your end.  

What happens if my package is delayed, lost or damaged?
Rare, but it's happened.  The first step is to contact us and make us aware of the issue. If the situation warrants additional investigation, and you’ve opted in for Navidium insurance (as described above), we will open a claim with The United States Postal Service (USPS) which will initiate an investigation into the matter.  If the issue warrants a refund to you (the customer), we will process one to your original payment method immediately after the claim is considered closed and in your favor.

Please Note - Any package deemed "lost" that arrives to you after a claim is complete and a refund has been provided to you is now considered property of The Interstellar Collection, LLC, and must be either refused upon delivery or postmarked and brought back to your post office within 14 business days. The package cannot be opened and should be returned in the same unopened condition as it has arrived to you in.

Care Instructions

How do I care for my meteorites?

For stony meteorites, you have very little to worry about outside of accidentally dropping and breaking the specimen.

With iron/stony-iron meteorites - you'll need to pay a little more attention to them. it's always a battle of humidity vs meteorite, and usually depends on where you live that will determine the level of extra attention that you'll need to give it.  The higher the humidity, the bigger hit the meteorite will take.  But with good habits, care and attention for your meteorites, you'll catch any issues before they ever become a serious problem.   

If you are finding that you are running into any problems down the line, you might want to consider sending the meteorite in for restoration, which we can do for you for a small fee.

Depending on how you display an iron or stony-iron meteorite (in or out of a cabinet) will determine if you should consider purchasing a desiccant container or not.  If it's being displayed inside of a cabinet, we suggest getting something like what's found in the link below to keep in the cabinet along with your meteorite: https://www.acehardware.com/departments/heating-and-cooling/air-quality/dehumidifiers/4205597

If you are storing it outside of a cabinet, just be sure to use a microfiber cloth every so often to (very, very gently) wipe any oils from your fingers off of it. 

The following methods below are helpful advice for the care of your iron meteorites that you can follow if you desire to do so, however, this is to be done at your own risk.  It is always best to send your specimen in for professional restoration:

If you have any rust appearing on the meteorite, consider using a little bit of CLR (found in most stores such as Lowes and even on Amazon, and apply it to the meteorite using distilled water.  Wear gloves and gently scrub the solution into the meteorite.  This usually removes rust the fastest, but you're not done yet!  Rinse the stone off with distilled water and place it in the oven at approximately 150 degrees F for about 6 hours.  This will take care of any remnant liquid left on the meteorite to prevent rust from forming.  The iron will be very hot, so please use caution when handling while still in the oven.  

When it comes to iron meteorites, we also suggest avoiding the use of membrane film cases.  While they are fine to use for transportation from point A to point B, over time they trap moisture and can cause the meteorite to begin to rust. 

If you bought a stony meteorite, you don't need to worry about rust - just its fragility.  All meteorites have varying levels of fragility - some more than others.  Always handle with care!

If you do not wish to attempt to clean your meteorite, we can do this for you.  The fee for restoration is minimal, but depends on the size, type and condition of the meteorite in question. If you've waited too long to send in for restoration, it might require more work to rid the specimen of rust and moisture.  If you've waited until the point of no return, you might have a meteorite that is too far gone for any restoration.  Essentially, you will have killed your meteorite... don't kill your meteorite. It lasted 4.6 billion years before it met you.  Do you want to be the reason you wiped it out of existence in such a short amount of time?
